Jiaozhou is of typical sub humid continent climate of temperate monsoon zone with the characteristics of warm climate, distinctive four seasons. With natural advantages, the city has abundant resources. There have been explored several mineral resources, such as barite, fluorite, graphite, argil, bentonite, perlite and quartz. The city possesses a coastline of 25 km in the southeast with more than 200 kinds of seafood, including prawn, pomfret, hairtail, carp, crab, mottle-clab etc.  Five rivers run through the city, including Daguhe, Jiaolaihe, Jiaohe, Moshuihe, Yanghe. There are two reservoirs in the city, which are Shanzhou Reservior and Qingnian Reservior. The city has a groundwater resource of 150,000,000 m3. It is teemed with wheat, corn, peanut, pepper, fruit, Jiaozhou cabbage, and the Lichahei Muscle Pig that are famous at home and abroad.
