Geological Situation |
Locating in the deepest and widest position of Jiaozhou Bay, Jiaozhou is an important traffic hinge, which is a link between Qingdao, Weihai, Yantai, Qingdao Port, Qingdao Qianhai Port and Huangdao Port with upland region of China. Four expressways and four railways run through this city. In Shandong Peninsular, from the east to the west, the Three Lines and Two Stations build up the unique region value. The Three Lines are the three golden ways of the peninsula. They are Jiqing(Jinan-Qingdao) Expressway, Qinglan Expressway and Jiaoji Railway, to which Jiaozhou is located in the important position. The Two Stations are Qingdao Logistics Center of CRMC and Qingdao Northern Passenger Transport Station of JIAOJI Railway. With a total investing capital of 680,000,000 yuan, Qingdao Logistics Center of CRMC is one of the 18 state stations which are established by China Railway Ministry. The new electrization railway Passenger Transport station is the only stop except Qingdao Station in Qingdao region, which will serve for the 4,000,000 people of Jiaozhou, Jiaonan and Huangdao. |

 Railway
Jiaoji Railway, Jiaohuang Railway, Lanyan Railway and Jiaoxin Railway run across Jiaozhou City. In Madian Town of Jiaozhou, there is a double-tracking railway station of Jiaoji Electric Railway. The CRMC Qingdao Container Center Station sets up in Jiaozhou.

 Highway
Jiqing Expressway (Jinan---Qingdao), Qinghong Expressway (Qingdao---Hongqilafu), Jiaozhou Bay Expressway (Qingdao---Huangdao), Tongsan Expressway (Tongjiang of Heilongjiang Province----Sanya of Hainan Province) go through Jiaozhou. These expressways, together with 204 National Highway and other four trunk lines crisscross in Jiaozhou and thus form a favorable traffic network extending in all directions.

 Airport
It’s merely 30 minutes’ car drive away from Jiaozhou City to Qingdao Liuting International Airport. By far, there are altogether 100 international and domestic airlines in Qingdao International Airport. This efficiently assures the communication between Qingdao and over 50 cities in China, and 10 cities in 5 foreign countries.

 Seaport
It’s only 30 minutes’ car drive away from Jiaozhou City to Qingdao Port and Qingdao Qianwan Port respectively. International shipping lines from Qingdao to more than 150 countries are now available. With a freight handling capacity of 265 million and a container handling capacity of 9.4 million TEU in 2007, Qingdao Port is a third largest port of China.
