Adjusting the industrial structure of agriculture, and facilitating industrial business is the principle guideline in developing agriculture in Jiaozhou. Centering on it, the four industries of vegetable, animal husbandary, aquatic products and forestry have been consistently stronger. The city now has cultivated batches of agricultural leading enterprises, 377 large-scope agricultural processing enterprises and established 312 agricultural cooperating organizations and associations.

At present, construction of four farming exemplary zones, 150,000 mu for each, are being fortified. They are high-yield and top quality grain zone, the high efficiency and top quality vegetable zone, the peanuts-for-export zone and the high-grade fruit and flower zone. The agricultural output of these featured modernized agriculture account beyond 80% of the total agricultural output value. There are 24 certificated pollution-free, green and organic demonstrating base passed the certification of Qingdao-level or above, and the city became the state pollution-free vegetable farming standard county.  More than 30 agricultural products are approved by the pollution-free requirements. Jiaozhou Cabbage attains the first origin brand in Qingdao and was appraised as Chinese famous brand agricultural products.

Jiaozhou has been granted successively honor titles, such as the State Protection Farming Demonstrate City, the State Testing Soil Fertilizing Examine City, the State Green Agriculture Construction Demonstrate City, the Unique State New Country Electrization Testing City in Shandong Province and the Advanced City of Agricultural Industrilization of Shandong Province.
